The San Julián Fair opened in style with two commanding performances that flung wide the Puerta Grande on the very first day. Daniel Luque and Emilio de Justo were the leading names of the afternoon, cutting two and three ears respectively before a mixed lot comprising the first pair from Rehuelga and four bulls from Pallarés.
The highlight came from the Extremaduran, who delivered a masterful performance to the sixth, earning two ears for a display of depth, rhythm and authority. Luque, meanwhile, offered a consistent, classy showing that translated into trophies from both his first and third bulls.

The second event of the San Julián Fair was brought to an abrupt end as heavy rain left the ring unfit for the rejoneadores’ mounts. After the third bull slipped badly, the riders unanimously requested that the corrida be suspended in order to safeguard their horses.
Were it a foot corrida, the spectacle might have continued, but safety prevailed. Prior to the suspension, Sergio Galán had delivered a classical, elegant performance that was marred only by his steel; Diego Ventura earned an ear in a downpour that drowned out any celebration; and Lea Vicens displayed commendable courage under torrential rain, though a missed swordstroke denied her reward.

All eyes were on Fernando Adrián in the third corrida of the fair, where he swept up four ears in a commanding display. His finest work came with his first bull, a spirited Roman Sorando animal that faded early but still allowed the madrileño to craft the most forceful faena of the afternoon, sealed with a superb estocada and two ears.
He repeated the double trophy with the fifth, despite the bull offering far less.
Morante de la Puebla left a picturesque faena to the fourth, rewarded with an ear, while Juan Ortega endured a thankless afternoon with an impossible pair of bulls.

Roca Rey once again proved his supremacy in Cuenca, leaving the bullring through the Puerta Grande after cutting three ears. He secured one from his first, a bull of Zacarías Moreno to which he applied depth and firmness, and two from the sixth, a Daniel Ruiz animal against which he risked everything in a courageous, high-impact faena.
Manzanares captured an ear from his first after a refined, composed performance, while Talavante showed flashes of inspiration in the fifth. A strong petition for a second ear was denied by the president’s box.

Bulls from Zacarías Moreno (first three) and Daniel Ruiz (final three).
The fifth event of the San Julián Fair delivered a lively and intense spectacle in which El Fandi secured a triumphant exit after cutting an ear from each of his bulls from La Palmosilla. True to his trademark style, he provided variety, dynamism and unwavering commitment.
Both Sebastián Castella and Miguel Ángel Perera produced noteworthy faenas of merit and artistic value, though each claimed only a single ear due to errors with the sword.
The scare of the afternoon came with Perera’s first bull, which caught him during a series of cape passes. A medical report confirmed a sheathed, upward-tracking 7-centimetre goring to the lower calf, with no vascular or nerve involvement and a mild prognosis.

The closing novillada in class practice showcased the emerging talent of Daniel Moset, the young novillero from Cuenca and student of the Guadalajara Bullfighting School. He cut two ears after an outstanding performance to the third eral of a remarkable Pedro Miota lot.
Manuel Martínez, Mario Vilau and Bruno Gimeno each cut an ear, while the rest of the novilleros left varied impressions in an afternoon full of freshness and promise.
