The San Julián Fair witnessed a rejoneo afternoon worthy of framing, with Diego Ventura delivering one of those performances that etch themselves into the collective memory of the aficionados. The Sevillian displayed mastery and commitment from the moment he entered the ring, sealing his triumph with the fifth bull from Benítez Cubero, which he dominated from start to finish. He walked away with three ears and a tail, and was carried out on the shoulders of an ecstatic crowd.
Lea Vicens also signed a solid and elegant performance, earning one trophy from each of her bulls and securing her place at the Puerta Grande. Rui Fernandes, who replaced Andy Cartagena, produced a strong effort with the fourth, for which there was a loud call for an ear; he ultimately received one.
Cuenca bullring. Third fixture of the San Julián Fair. Rejoneo.
Bulls from Benítez Cubero and Pallarés (3rd and 4th).
The San Julián Fair experienced one of its most memorable afternoons, led by a standout name: Fernando Adrián. The Madrid-born matador wrote a golden chapter in the Cuenca arena by pardoning “Batidero”, a brave and classy fifth bull from Román Sorando who charged with depth and nobility from the moment he entered the ring. Earlier, Adrián had already produced a dominant display with the second, cutting two ears.
The artistic feast was completed with the triumphal exits of Daniel Luque, who took two ears from the fourth after a commanding performance, and Pablo Aguado, who showcased exquisite natural toreo with the sixth, also awarded two ears.
The public left speaking of a great afternoon—one of those that justifies an entire season ticket.

Alejandro Talavante performed with composure and finesse in front of the first bull, though the prize eluded him; he was applauded for a well-crafted faena with the fourth.
Juan Ortega’s lot lacked transmission, yet he worked hard to extract every possible pass, earning ovations in both appearances. A serious afternoon with moments of quality and a result that reflected what had unfolded in the ring.
